The Cooperative of Salt Farmers of Ré Island acts on behalf of the salt farming profession and is part of the IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) approach. The STG (Traditional Specialty Guarantee) label is also in process, and is initiated by the salt farmers of the Atlantic coast.
