There are 70 members ain total including 5 women. Since 1995, about thirty young people have come to increase the number of salt farmers and rebalance the scale of age. The average age is about 50 but with a tendency for getting younger. New salt farmers are both guided and trained by the elders, as well as following a training program for a year at the Turballe. The salt farmers work today to preserve their know-how and exceptional landscapes that make up the salt marshes. Many salt marshes are restored allowing both the increase of production potential and the active protection of this living environment.
